Biography
Pieter-Jan Hofkens qualified as M.D. in 2007 and as Car-diologist in 2013 at the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium. Then he started a fellowship in Intensive Care Medicine at the Ziekenhuis Netwerk Antwerp in the ZNA Stuivenberg Hospital in Antwerp and the Antwerp Uni-versity Hospital (UZA), becoming certified in Intensive Care Medicine in 2014. Currently, he works in AZ Turn-hout. His main interests are heart failure and cardiovas-cular imaging. He is certified by the European Society of Cardiology in transthoracic and transesophageal echo-cardiography.
